The bio industry has a prominent role in the Netherlands. There are almost as many pigs as people, an astonishing number of 12.6 million. We are also at the worldwide number 6 of most important export countries of pigs. In short, pigs play an essential part in our consumer society.
There has been a lot of discussion about pig farms in the Netherlands. Fingers are pointed, but no one actually listens to each other. Pig farmers complain about extreme, intrusive activists. Activists paint of these farmers as money hungry torturers. But why are they not able to have a civil talk? Why is there so much incomprehension? Are these farmers really so extreme?
"Rosa" is a short documentary about a newborn piglet born in the bio-industry that creates an unique bond between a design student and a pig farmer.
